II - A Time of Waiting

The word of the Lord, Yahweh Sabaoth, to his servant.

"I sought among my people,

those to whom I've called,

But there was none,

No, not one,

who inclined his ear to Me,

who sought My face with his eyes,

nor listens to My Words.

So, as before, I searched for one,

a man with a repentant heart,

who sought My face,

who listened and obeyed.

One to stand in the breach,

who would plead My case with My nation."

So I waited, with patience, afraid of this command too high for me. My spirit trembled before the Lord God Almighty, the weight of his task such that only He could carry forth.

Return to the Lord, O' Israel.

Repent and renew your covenant with Him,

that He would plead your case for you,

and you would be long in the land He gave you.
